Daniel Needham Cornish was born at Bangor NY 21 Feb. 1819. Moved to Ohio as a young man and married Amy Rice at Farmer, Defiance County, Ohio. He was a blacksmith and a farmer there. They came to Fayette County about 1865 and had a farm in Westfield Township. His wife Amy died 6 April 1869 at the age of 36 leaving five young children. Loriston, Amatus, Ella, Joel and Eva. Daniel Cornish married second Nancy Fox 24 Dec. 1869 and they had four children: Harriet, William, Ezra and Louis. Daniel Cornish died 7 Nov. 1904 and is buried at the West Union Cemetery.
