Stevens, Artemus M., farmer, Section 30 (Auburn township); PO Eden; born in Grafton Co., NH, in 1829. Married Sarah Nicely in 1853; she was born in Jefferson Co., Ohio, 1823; have five children -- Homer M., Mary J., Clara A., John S., and Clarence E. Came to this state in 1855, and lived one year in Clayton Co., when he removed to his present estate; has a farm of 135 acres, valued at $30 per acre. Both are members of the Methodist Church. Went to McGregor to mill, and numbers among the early settlers of this town and county, being well known throughout.
