Large Ranch in Emmet County

In the history of Emmet County, I am wondering when that large ranch near Tuttle Lake came into being and how long it existed. There is a historical site of the old bridge crossing the Des Moines River. Armstrong, Iowa Museum has a bunch of info on that ranch. Just curious why it would not me included in the history of Emmet County.
