The July, 1870 federal census of Estherville Township, Emmet County, Iowa lists the following:
Graves, Nelson, 39, miller, value of personal estate--$350, born in New York
Graves, Lucinda, 32, keeping house, born--Pennsyvania
Graves, Frank L., 13,born in Pennsylvania
Graves, Chauncy, 11,born in Pennsylvania
Graves, Alice, 9, born in Pennsylvania
Graves, Arthur, 7, born in Pennsylvania
Graves, Ellsworth, 3, born in Iowa
Graves, Adelia, 1, born in Iowa
I will send you via snail mail a photocopy and the address of a descendant of Nelson Graves through his son, Willaim A., who has done extensive research on the Graves family.
