Thank you Ruth for taking the time to find the Bergs in the 1895 Iowa census. I have also found them in the 1900 US census in Ellsworth Twp. Now I will need to see if they were still in Iowa at the time of the 1905 Iowa census. I have found them in South Dakota in the 1920 US census.
It is interesting that they are listed as Lutheran while his sister and brother-in-law, Frederick A. and Suffie Anderson are listed as Methodist Episcopal in Ellsworth Twp. in 1895.
The census taker certainly had some spelling issues.
