BRUGJELD, PETERSON

BRUGJELD, PETERSON

My Genealogical research has found that Nils (Niels) Pederson Brugjeld (b. 7/5/1835 on the Brugjeld farm in Balestrand parish, Sogn Co,. Norway) came with his family to America when he was 13.

Nils' famiily joined a caravan of migrant Norwegians who were headed for Iowa and were among the first Norwegian settlers in Emmet County, Iowa.

It's my understanding that Nils bought 320 acrees in Sections 17 and 18 and latter donated some of this land for the Peterson Cemetry in High Lake Townshiip, later called Riverside Cemetery, now called Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery.

If you have any information about Nils Brugjeld or his family, it would be of great help to me in my genealogy research.

All the best - Kaaron Hall-Dixon
