After a week’s illness, Eugene August Koenecke, 52, died about noon yesterday at Sioux Falls Veteran’s Hospital.
Funeral services have been set for 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church here, the Rev. James H. Duhigg officiating.
Born here in Emmet County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Koenecke, Koenecke lived in this area all his life. He did construction work and served in the Army in World War II.
A brother, Francis of Estherville, a sister, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Phillipps pf Burlington, Wis. and his parents survive. One brother John preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home from tomorrow until time of services on Saturday. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. on Friday.
There will be a military service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
