Eugene Beatty Dies at Home of His Parents
Death Result of Heart Ailment

Eugene Llewellyn Beatty, 21, died at 9:30 a.m. today at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Beatty.

Eugene was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Estherville. He graduated from the Estherville high school and attended junior college here for one year.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors are his parents, his grandmother, Mrs. Lottie Conner, a brother, Charles, of Portsmouth, Va., and a sister, Esther, of Estherville.

Funeral arrangements have not been made yet. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 29, 1942)

Rites Saturday for Eugene Beatty

Funeral services for Eugene Beatty will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Arthur Beatty home. The Rev. R.T. Chipperfield of Fostoria, former Methodist minister here and a friend of the family, will preach the sermon. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 30, 1942)

Beatty Rites Saturday
Will Be Held at 2 o’clock in the Home With Rev. Chipperfied in Charge of Services

Friends of Eugene Beatty were greatly shocked to hear of his sudden death Wednesday morning at 9:30 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Beatty, from a heart attack.

Eugene Llewellyn Beatty was born January 23, 1921, in Estherville and has lived here all of his life, attending the local schools and attending junior college for one year.

He was a member of the Estherville Methodist church.

He is survived by his parents, one brother, Charles, of Portsmouth, Va., and a sister, Esther, of this city. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Lottie Conner.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, and his brother is expected home that day so he can be in attendance at services, which will be held at 2 p.m. in the home with Rev. R. T. Chipperfield officiating.

Pallbearers have been selected and are as follows: Art Mauss, Art Markley, Charles Bixby, C. L. Mulock, Frank Sutton, and Gordon Griffis. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, July 30, 1942)
