Mrs. J. Barker Dies; Rites to Be Held Friday
Mrs. John Barker, 79 years old, pioneer of Emmet county, died Tuesday night after an illness of a few months. Although she was confined to her bed for only a few days Mrs. Barker has been in poor health for several months.Mrs. Barker is the mother of Mrs. L. C. Doolittle and Miss Edna Barker. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Barker home with the Rev. Frank Yearnd, pastor of the Baptist church, officiating. Mrs. Barker is a member of the Baptist church and has always been an active worker. She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution society.
Luella R. Lovell was born March 19, 1850, in Kingfield, Maine. November 14, 1869, she was married to John M. Barker of Wisconsin. They came to this vicinity on their wedding trip and she has lived her since that time. Mr. Barker died 14 years ago. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, February 20, 1930)
