MRS. ANDREW SWANSON PASSES TO REWARD
Mary Sofia Swanson was born in Smaaland, Sweden May 29, 1847. In 1874 she came to America and took up her residence at DeKalb, Ill. There she was married to Andrew Swanson in 1876. In 1883 they moved to Dickinson county, Iowa, and four years later to their present home in Emmet county where she passed away October 27, 1922. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and five sons, Ed. A., Walter R., George W., Albert S. and Will. Two sons have preceded her in death.
Her passing away was sudden and unexpected. The day before she had not been just well, but nothing serious was apparent. During the early hours of the morning, quietly the Master called her and her soul left its earthly habitation to wing its way to eternity. She was in life a devout hearer and reader of God's word, so we were led to believe that she left us not unprepared.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. S. A. Berge, at the Lutheran church. Interment was made at the East Side cemetery.
