Mrs. Eli Erickson Dies After Extended Illness
Mrs. Eli Erickkson died at her home between Huntington and Dolliver Friday, December 14th, after months of patient suffering. The funeral was held from the home Monday and the body laid to rest at the Norwegian cemetery near Dolliver. Rev. Hansen of Gruver conducted the services.
Mrs. Erickson who before her marriage, was Stena Rynes was born in Norway in 1868, and was at the time of her death 49 years and 12 days of age. She came to this country with her parents at the age of thirteen and moved to this vicinity with her husband and family fifteen years ago. Mrs. Erickson is the, mother of eight children, six of whom are living. They are Helen (Mrs. Richard Sterenborg) Gilbert, Leonard, Ellen, Ruth and Georgia. Besides her children she leaves her husband, three brothers and two sisters to mourn her untimely death.
Mrs. Erickson was a quiet sincere woman loved by all who knew her, a devout Christian who always did all in her power to have her children follow the teachings of the church. In all the months of suffering which preceded her death, she showed great fortitude, never at any time allowing her sickness to cast a shadow over her loved ones.
