ESTHERVILLE -- Services for Carrie I. Hoffmeyer, 86, of Estherville, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Estherville. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Hoffmeyer died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Avera Holy Family Hospital, Estherville. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville.

Carrie Ingeborg Juhl was born Sept. 12, 1914, in Grundy Center, daughter of Christian and Christena (Peters) Juhl. She received her education in the Estherville schools and graduated from Estherville High School in 1933. she married Ryan W. Hoffmeyer on Nov. 18, 1933, at the Christian Church Parsonage in Sioux Falls, S.D. They made their home in Madison, Wis., until 1935, when they returned to Estherville. She was a homemaker and assisted him in his contracting business as his bookkeeper.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Estherville.

Survivors include: son, Don Hoffmeyer and wife, Donna, of Estherville; daughter, Carol Loring and husband, Ray, of Emmetsburg; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Dale C. Juhl and wife, Fame, of Estherville; sisters, Florence Hoffmeyer of Prineville, Ore., and Maxine Mahin of Escondido, Calif.; sister-in-law, Martha Juhl of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and two sisters.
