Estherville--services for Clifford R. Hedrick, long-time businessman of Estherville, will be held Saturday, October 22 at 1:30 p.m. He died October 18 at the Good Samaritan Center here.
Hedrick was born on October 11, 1897 to Frank and Nora Hedrick and was educated in rural Knoxville. He married Grace Stevenson and farmed in Knoxville three years before changing to the dry cleaning business.
In October of 1924 he moved to Estherville to own and operate Paris cleaners. Jennie Handeland became his bride in 1959 and he completed his ownership of the dry cleaners with 50 years in Estherville in 1974.
A member of the United Methodist Church and active in community affairs he served several terms on the Estherville City Council. He retired Jan. 1, 1975 and has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home for the past two and a half years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and five brothers. His survivors include his wife Jennie of Estherville; three sisters, Mrs. Dewey (Hazel) Mark of Knoxville, Mrs. B. J. (Edith) Redden of Marshalltown and Mrs. Robert (Pauline) Sadler of Pella; Havard Hedrick of Ames, brother and a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Seely of Missoula Montana.
Pastors Max Goldman and Stan Eyberg of Estherville Lutheran will officiate at the services to be held at the Unithed Methodist Church of Estherville. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery with Henry and Olson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
