Services Tuesday for Henry Haworth

Memorial services for Henry W. Haworth, 78, were Tuesday afternoon at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ellis Gassner officiating. Burial was in Armstrong Grove cemetery.

Mr. Haworth’s death occurred Saturday, June 1, at the Burgess Memorial hospital in Onawa. Prior to going to Onawa about eight months ago, Mr. Haworth had been an Armstrong resident for 71 years.

A son of Eli and Mathilda Haworth, he was bon Dec. 7, 1889 in Calhoun County, Iowa. He was married to Grace Worcester July 17, 1915 at Estherville.

Mr. Haworth was a retired farmer and from 1950 to 1959 was a route carrier for the Des Moines Register.

Survivors include his wife, a resident at Elmwood Home in Onawa; two sons, Carl of Naperville, Ill, and Clyde of Minneapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) Sparrowgrove of Fremont, Mich., and Mrs. Jerry (Marilyn) Laffey of Onawa; two brothers, T. E. Haworth of Armstrong and Holland Haworth of Spokane, Wash., and nine grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ronald, and two sisters.
