Mrs. Caroline Perkins Grems, wife of George Grems, near Swan Lake, passed to her reward on March 13, 1916. She was born at Mr. Vernon, Ohio, January 10, 1844, thus having lived to reach a very ripe old age. She was married on March 30, 1862, to John Goldsberry and to this union were born three children, Henry, who had gone on before her; and Roy and John. Again on December 17, 1871 she was married to George Grems and to this union seven children were born, William, Frank, Susie, Walter, George, Carrie and Nellie, and all survive her except the latter. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. W. A. Creason. Burial in the Estherville cemetery. Sister Grems was a good mother, a good neighbor, and one whom to know was to love and admire. We mourn her departure because we miss her cheerful face, but while she is gone she is in good hands, for no one can die who has truly lived, for true virtue is an immortal seed that will blossom into life again.
