OBITUARY: Fred Goodge, 85, who has, been a resident of Dickens for 30 years, died at the Spencer Hospital Sunday, 01-31-1954. He has been in failing health for several months. He was married to Susan Wood of Laurens, in 1888. To this union were born 3 children, 2 daughters and one son: Mrs. Ross Clark of Nevada and Mrs. Adolph Cooklin of Palmer. Allen Goodge now deceased. Mrs. Goodge preceded her husband in death.
In 1921 he married Hattie Perry, who preceded him in death 07-16-1953.
Surviving him besides his 2 daughters are: a step-daughter, Mrs. Milo Pedersen, 2 step-sons, Henry and Eldon Perry, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren ad 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Frederick Vincent Goodge were held Tuesday, 02-02-1954 at 1:00 p.m. from the Cobb Warner chapel. Burial was in the Armstrong cemetery.
