Janice L. Strube, daughter of Eugene and Sylvia (Cassem) Strube, was born on October 2, 1964, in Estherville, Iowa. She passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Mayo Health Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 56 years.

Janice graduated from Estherville High School in 1983. She then earned her associate degree from the Spencer School of Business, Spencer, Iowa. A move to Burnsville, Minnesota for a job with National Rent A Car, was Jan’s next adventure in life. She returned home to Estherville and was employed at the Handy Shop, before beginning a career at Pure Fishing for the next 20 years. Due to her failing health, she retired in 2013.

Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and cats, Patience and Cash. Her nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews were the center of her life. Crafting, painting, and reading were ways that Janice spent her free time. She enjoyed watching movies and then quoting the lines with her niece Tara. Her favorite actor was John Travolta.

She is survived by her siblings Gary (Katie) Strube of Ripon, Wisconsin and Marly Zieckler of Estherville; her life partner John Thomas of Estherville, and sister-in-law, Kay Maclay of Estherville. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Tara Zieckler of Estherville, Kyle Strube of Anamosa,Iowa; Kipp (RaLeah Held) Strube of Estherville, and Casi Strube; great-nieces and nephews, Aiden, Landon, David, Kailynn, and Huxley.

She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene Strube and Sylvia Strube-Poyzer and her brother Kevin Strube.

The funeral service was held Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with interment at East Side Cemetery, Estherville.
