Kevin Strube, son of Eugene and Sylvia (Cassem) Strube, was born on August 7, 1959 in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away, surrounded by his family, at his home in Estherville on August 15, 2020 at the age of 61 years.

Kevin attended Estherville Schools. He was united in marriage to Karen Petersen in 1981. To this union his sons Kyle and Kipp were born. The couple were later divorced; but remained lifelong friends. He was employed through-out the years for Estherville Sand and Gravel, Ferrell Gas, and MaxYield Co-Op as a truck driver.

He was a member of the Estherville Fire Department for 20+ years. Kevin found great pleasure in playing Santa in Estherville in the 1990’s. Kevin was very fond of his dogs, especially Maxx. He especially enjoyed attending the sprint car races at Jackson and Knoxville. Kevin liked to go the casino, boating on the lake, bowling in leagues, shooting his handgun, and target practice. In his younger years, he also enjoyed roller skating at the fairgrounds and riding motorcycle.

Kevin is survived by his sons: Kyle (Casi) Strube of Anamosa and Kipp (RaLeah Held) Strube of Estherville; four grandchildren: Aiden, Landon, Kailynn and Huxley. He is also survived by his siblings, Gary (Katie) Strube, of Ripon, WI, Marlys Zieckler, of Estherville, and Jan Strube, of Estherville; nieces and nephews: Tara Zieckler and her son David Barrett, Josh Petersen, and Jessica Petersen and her son, Brayson; and close family friend Kay Maclay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Sylvia (Cassem) Strube.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at V.F.W. Post 3388 in Estherville, Iowa with burial at East Side Memorial Cemetery, Estherville.
