Funeral Services were held for Terry Rierson at the Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville, Iowa at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2008. Pastor Luther Thoresen, officiating. Interment at the Los Island Lutheran Cemetery in Graettinger, Iowa.

Terry Dennis Rierson the son of Olaf and Lenora (Anderson) Rierson was born July 5, 1947 in Estherville, Iowa and departed this life on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville at the age of 61.

He received his education in Graettinger schools, graduating from Graettinger High School.

Terry has lived in Graettinger and Estherville his entire life. He was employed at Graettinger Block and Tile. On June 1, 1990, he was united in marriage to Renae Olson at the Los Island Lutheran Church in rural Ruthven, Iowa. Terry worked at Green Acres Homes before retiring in 2004, due to poor health. Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, sitting by the lake with family and friends. He especially enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Lost Island Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish Terry’s memory is his wife, Renae of Estherville, his children, Tracy Rierson of Chandler, Arizona; Lewis, Hannah and Kayla Zufall all of Estherville; six grandchildren; sister, Trudy Dawson Hahn and her husband, Cal of Scottsdale, Arizona; brother-in-law, Frank Garrelts of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Rhonda Olson of Estherville; brothers-in-law, Bob Olson and his wife, Michelle of Tullahoma, Tennessee; Bruce Olson and Lorrie; Mike Olson and his wife, Kellie; Troy Olson and Shari all of Estherville and many nieces and nephews.

He has been preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joyce Garrelts, brother, Norris Rierson and nephew, Kenny Rierson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 24, 2008)
