G. A. Peterson, 64, Dies After Long Illness
G.A. Peterson, 64, of Estherville died at 10:45 a.m. today at his home following a year’s illness.Gus Augustine Peterson was born on Dec. 12, 1880, in Stockholm, Sweden, and came to the United States when still a small boy. He had lived in Estherville almost all his life since coming to the United States.
Peterson had been employed on the Rock Island railroad for many years and is a retired railroad conductor. He is a member of the B. of R.T., and of the Odd Fellows lodge.
Survivors include his widow, a daughter, Mary Louise, working in Des Moines and a son, Corp. Clarence Peterson, who is stationed in the Philippines; three sisters, Mrs. Carl Glaus of Boone, Mrs. Fred Sawyer of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Arlando Lough, of Estherville and one brother, Charles, living at Watertown, S.D.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 17, 1945)
