Mrs. Pruella Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Pruella Calvin, resident of Emmet county for 47 years, died at 9 a.m. yesterday at the Balmer Rest home here after being ill for the past year. She died one week before her 78th birthday.

Mrs. Calvin was born March 28, 1876, in Aurora, Ill., and was reared in that state. On May 20, 1896, she married (Leonard (Jerry) Calvin at Flanagan, Ill.
The couple farmed in Emmet county near Dolliver from 1907 until Mr. Calvin died on Jan. 12, 1937. Mrs. Calvin then moved to Estherville.
Surviving her death are a daughter, Mrs. Carl Dennison of Wilmar, Minn.; two sons, Hal Calvin of Davenport and Joe of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. John Allen of Los Angeles; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband and five children, four daughters and a son.
Funeral services have been set for 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Union Baptist church, the Rev. Raymond Larson, officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn cemetery. Friends may call at the Sternborg funeral home this eveing and until time of services tomorrow. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 22, 1954)
