Mrs. Rose Mitchell
Mrs. Rose Mitchell, 90, died at 2 a.m. Thursday at her home in Maple Hill as a result of a stroke.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Reese-Henry Chapel in Armstrong with the Rev. Leslie B. Lewis officiating. Burial will be made in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell was born April 17, 1881, in Denison, Tex., to Mr. and Mrs. Pleasant Wear. She attended school in Mount Vernon, Mo., and was married in 1903 to William Jackson Mitchell at Duncan, Okla., where she had been living. Following their marriage, they moved to Indian territory in Oklahoma. Mrs. Mitchell taught school and worked with the deaf and dumb.

She later lived in Denton, Tex., and in 1931 moved to Perryton, Tex., and made her home with her daughter, Eugenia Mitchell, until 1946. Both moved to Estherville, remaining for one year, and then to Maple Hill.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Miss Mitchell, and son, Frank Mitchell, both of Maple Hill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home in Armstrong today and until time of the services Saturday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 1, 1971)
