Armstrong – Services for Ella Mein, 82, of Armstrong will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church at Dolliver with the Rev. Dan Miller officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery at Armstrong. She died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at Avera Holy Family Health at Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home at Armstrong.

She was born October 16, 1915 at Goldfield, the daughter of Henry and Gepke (Bunk) Mein. She attended rural school near Kanawha. She moved to the Armstrong area with her parents in 1936. Ella remained single and lived on farms with her brothers Gerald, George and Dick in the Armstrong, Maple Hill, Estherville and Dolliver areas. She moved to Armstrong after Gerald’s death in 1980.

Survivors include brother, Abbo Mein, Swea City; George Mein, Estherville; and Lucas Mein, Gruver; one sister, Tillie Gustafson, Ledyard; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 22, 1998)
