Armstrong – Services for Mrs. Roscoe (Emma [Josephine]) Mayne, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, Rev. William Olmstead officiating, with interment in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Saturday [November 28, 1981] at the Valley Vue Nursing Home.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home Monday and until noon on Tuesday.

She was born Feb. 9, 1900 at Ledyard, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Schultz) Steinberg; she attended country schools in the Ledyard area. On Nov. 24, 1920 she married Roscoe Mayne at Algona; they farmed near Ledyard until 1928 when they moved to Swea City where they lived until moving to a farm east of Armstrong in 1932. She lived there until four years ago when she entered the nursing home.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Mayne is survived by her husband, Roscoe; one son Orville Mayne of Armstrong; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Wanda) Trenary, Armstrong; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 30, 1981)
