Longtime Resident, Swea Twp., Succumbs Nov. 18
Swea & Eagle – Mrs. Hansine Maudshund [Mausehund], 86, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 18. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Pearson, after a lingering illness.

Last rites were held Monday afternoon at the Al Pearson home and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Armstrong. Rev. Sam Polovina, pastor, officiated, and burial was in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Hansine Madsen [Madisen] was born February 1, 1869, in Denmark, where she received her early education and grew to womanhood, and was a member of a Danish Lutheran Church.

In 1895, her mother, three sisters and herself came to America to join the other members of the family who came here at an earlier date. One brother remained in Denmark.

In 1903 she married Henry Mausehund at Algona. The couple farmed in Swea township, retiring to Armstrong where they lived 20 years. After Mr. Mausehund’s death 10 year ago, she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pearson who live on the farm home.

Mrs. Mausehund joined the Methodist Church in Armstrong in 1903.

Preceding her in death are her husband, her parents, five brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are her daughter (Helen) Mrs. Albert Pearson, one granddaughter (Alberta) Mrs. Ward Lane, two great granddaughters Darla and Carolyn Lane, two sisters, Mrs. Morton Bensen of Ringsted and Mrs. Claude Stober Wallingford. (Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, November 24, 1955)
