Armstrong – Funeral services for George E. [Everett] Manley, 91, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 14 at the United Methodist Church in Armstrong with Pastor Lyndon Roesler officiating. Interment will be held at Armstrong Grove Cemetery, Armstrong. He died Tuesday, April 11 at Lutz Wing Medical Center in Fairmont, Minn.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Armstrong.

George E. Manley the son of Tom and Dorothy (Luscombe) Manley was born Feb. 26, 1915 in Armstrong. He died on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Lutz Wing Medical Center at the age of 91.

He received his education in Armstrong, graduating from Armstrong High School.

On April 9, 1939, George was united in marriage to Margaret Enderson in Estherville. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in the Armstrong area where George was engaged in farming. For hobbies, George enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family.

George was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Margaret of Armstrong; children, Tom Manley and his wife Joanne of Armstrong; Sharon Aanonson and her husband, Orin of Ringsted; Kenneth Manley of Armstrong; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He has been preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Letha Harris; Flossie Manley; Fern Manley and one brother, Thomas Manley. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 13, 2006)
