Mrs. Herman Mangold Dies; Rites Sunday
Armstrong – A heart seizure Tuesday morning resulted in the death of Mrs. Herman (Florence) Mangold of Armstrong.

Taken to Holy Family Hospital later in the day, Mrs. Mangold died there at 8:57 last night. She was 67.

She and her husband operated a grocery store in Armstrong for many years. In later years she was an employe of the Armstrong Sale Co.

At one time Mrs. Mangold worked at Armstrong’s first bank.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Presbyterian Church here.

Born in St. Paul, [per MN Birth Records April 5, 1893] Florence B. [Dagmar] Olson attended Armstrong schools, was graduated from high school here and attended Buena Vista college.

She moved to this county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Haldar Olsen, in 1900. In 1924 she was married to Herman Mangold at Armstrong, who preceded her in death.

One brother, Claude Olsen, Wenatchee, Wash., and one sister, Hariett Olsen of Armstrong, survive.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian Church in Armstrong, the Rev. James Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Slaba Funeral home from Friday until time of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 12, 1961)
