LaVerne "Mickey" Looft the daughter of William and Elsie (Erickson) Spriestersbach was born October 21, 1933 in Crystal Lake, Illinois and departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Fairmont Medical Center in Fairmont, Minnesota at the age of 74.

Mickey received her education in Franklin Park, Illinois schools.

On November 26, 1955 she was united in marriage to Donald Looft at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norwalk, California. While in California, Mickey was employed with Packard Bell and Hughes Aircraft. In 1970, the couple moved back to Iowa where Mickey worked at Weigh-Tronix for 11 years. Mickey then received her CNA certificate and was employed with Valley Vue Care Center and Rosewood Manor. She retired at the age of 60. Mickey enjoyed spending time with family and friends and most important was taking care of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling, camping, Chicago Cubs baseball, Iowa Hawkeye's and country music. In her younger days, she enjoyed Roller Derby and played with the Los Angeles Thunderbirds.

Mickey was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Armstrong.

Left to cherish Mickey's memory are her husband, Donald of Armstrong; children, Lorrie Looft of Armstrong; Anna Kingswan of Estherville; Loren Looft of Armstrong; Dean Looft and his wife, Dawn of Armstrong; six grandchildren, Kristina Tindall and her husband, Bruce; D.J. Looft; Dylan Looft; Dena Looft; Drew Kingswan; Allison Kingswan; great grandchildren, John, Kaitlin and Kimberly Tindall; sisters, Gertrude Carmichael and Avis Wiley and her husband, Bill all of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Harriett VonBank of Sherburn, Minnesota; Beverly Looft of Spirit Lake, Iowa; LaVon Kastner and her husband, Carl of Winnebago, Minnesota and many nieces and nephews.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Cody Michael Looft; two brothers, Buddy and Billy; five brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law, and her mother and father-in-law.
