Mrs. George Loewenberg Dead at 79
Mrs. George Loewenberg [Mary Elizabeth Buhn Loewenberg], 79, died at 8:45 last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Anderson, with whom she has made her home for the last five years. Mrs. Loewenberg has been paralyzed, unable to move or to speak, as the result of a stroke five years ago.The Rev. R.R. Irwin of Armstrong will conduct funeral services for Mrs. Loewenberg at the Anderson home in Estherville Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and at the Armstrong Presbyterian church at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Armstrong cemetery beside her husband, who died eight years ago.
Mrs. Loewenberg was born in Illinois, moving to Emmet county shortly after her marriage and settling on a farm west of Ringsted.
She is survived by seven children, Mrs. John Anderson of Estherville; Mrs. John Flier of Armstrong; Mrs. Elmer Gangestade of Ft. Ripley, Minn.; Albert Loewenberg of Ringsted; Henry Loewenberg and John Loewenberg of Armstrong; and George Loewenberg of Fairmont, Minn. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 19, 1940)

Mrs. George Loewenberg, 79, passed away at 8:15 Thursday [July 18, 1940] night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Anderson, with whom she has made her home for the last five years. Mrs. Loewenberg suffered a stroke five years ago and since that time had been paralyzed, unable to move or to speak.Funeral services were conducted at the Anderson home in Estherville Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and at the Armstrong Presbyterian church at 2:30 p.m. Burial was in the Armstrong cemetery, beside her husband, who died eight years ago.
