Ringsted – Services for Mrs. Lyle (Joy Arlene) Lindell, 52, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Marshall Montei officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1988 at her farm home.Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Armstrong is in charge of arrangements.
Joy Arlene Place was born March 9, 1936 at Emmetsburg, and was the daughter of Gilbert and Annabell (Fausch) Place. She attended school in Emmetsburg and graduated from Armstrong High School in 1954. She attended Cornell College at Mt. Vernon. On June 10, 1956 she was united in marriage with Lyle L. Lindell at Armstrong. She lived most of her life in the Armstrong-Ringsted area where she farmed with her husband north of Ringsted.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church; member of Church Choir, Emmet County Country Chords, Estherville; Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star; member of Armstrong Federated Womens Club; Danish American Fellowship, Ringsted; 25 year member of C & H Club, Ringsted.
Survivors include her husband, Lyle, Ringsted; parents Gilbert and Anna Place, Emmetsburg; one son Thomas, Fairmont, Minn.; a daughter Mrs. Russel (Tyra) White, and granddaughter Katrina White, Lincoln, Neb.; one brother Roger Place, Woodridge,Ill.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 12, 1988)
