Armstrong - Services for Mrs. Keith (Esther) McKean, 75, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Pulscher of the Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Thursday morning, June 12, 1986 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.
Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Esther Ann Horswell was born Sept. 14, 1910 at Armstrong, the daughter of Garfield S. and Anna Mary A. (Wegner) Horswell. She attended Armstrong Consolidated School and graduated from high school in 1929. On Dec. 31, 1934 she was united in marriage with Arnold E. Willson at Armstrong. He died in Dec. 1958. On Dec. 23, 1961 she was married to Keith McKean at Armstrong where she taught private piano and organ lessons and was the church organist for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church; UMW; 51 year member of the Rebekah Lodge; Past Noble Grand; and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband Keith, Armstrong; two daughters: Mrs. Gean Work, Armstrong and Mrs. Jack (Marlys) Masterson, Las Cruces, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Herman (Bernice) Blom, Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 14, 1986)
