Funeral Rites Held for Mrs. M.M. Leison

Funeral services were held for Mrs. M.M. Leison Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the First Methodist church with the Rev. Dwight C. Bonham in charge of the services. Burial was in the Armstrong Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Leison passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, after a lingering illness.

The deceased was born at Foreston, Ill., May 11, 1853, the daughter of Conrad and Ida Shurfield [Shierfield?]. She moved with her family to Grundy Center, Ia.

She was united in marriage to Menno Martin Leison in Grundy Center, Nov. 21, 1892. After making their home on a farm in that vicinity for 14 years, they moved to the Ringsted community where they farmed until 1917, at which time they moved to Armstrong where they have since made their home.

Survivors include her husband and five daughters: Anna, Mrs. Forest Fowler of Forest City; Jennie, Mrs. George Peterson of Morris, Minn.; Minnie, Mrs. George Woodworth of Minneapolis, Minn.; Lillian, Mrs. Arthur Horn, of Steen, Minn.; Mary, Mrs. George Quigley of Charles City. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother. One daughter, Ida, preceded her in death in 1915.
