Ole J. Johnson Dies Sunday P.M. At Armstrong
Armstrong, June 25 – Ole J. [Jacob] Johnson died Sunday [June 24, 1934] afternoon here at the home of his granddaughter Mrs. Elmer Fretty after a lingering illness. He became worse Saturday. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran church.

Ole J. Johnson was born February 5, 1859 at Morris, Ill. He came to Armstrong in 1916 where he has since made his home.

Seven children mourn his death. They are Mrs. E. Nordby, Butterfield, Minn., Geo. Johnson and Casher [Casper] Johnson of Willmar, Minn., Gerhart Johnson, Cylinder; Mrs. Ole Opsal, Oscar Johnson and Joe Johnson of Armstrong, one sister, Mrs. Knutson, two brothers, Willie Johnson, Irwin and J.B. Johnson, Minneapolis also survive him.

His wife preceded him in death 5 years ago. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 26, 1934)

Funeral Services for Ole J. Johnson Held
Armstrong, June 26 – Funeral services will be held here Wednesday afternoon at the Lutheran church for Ole J. Johnson, 75, who died at his home after a lingering illness. Mr. Johnson was born at Morris, Ill. He came to Armstrong in 1916. Seven children survive. Mrs. E. Nordby, Butterfield, Minn., George and Casper, Wilmer, Minn., Gerhart, Cylinder, and Mrs. Ole Opsal, Oscar and Joe of Armstrong. (Mason City Globe, Mason City, IA, June 26, 1934)
