Orval W. Work
Armstrong – Services for Orval Wayne Work, 56, Armstrong, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Charles Fender and the Rev. Bill Olmsted officiating. Interment will be in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Work died Friday [May 29, 1981] at his home.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, until noon Tuesday and at the church prior to services.

The son of Harley and Emma Work, he was born March 12, 1925, at Swea City and received his education in Grant Township School. He was married to Gean Ann Horn on Aug. 22, 1975, at Sioux Fall, S.D.

He was a construction worker for six years, then did commercial trucking for Darrell Burgess. He was a member of the Free Methodis Church.

Mr. Work is survived by his wife, Gean Ann, Armstrong; seven daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Carla) Strong, Armstrong, Mrs. Norman (Mary) Duer, Swea City, Mrs. Richard (Wendy) Duitsman, Armstrong, Marjorie Walders, Armstrong, Wanita Work, Armstrong, Marlys Work, Armstrong, and Patti Work, Armstrong; one son, Gary Walders, Armstrong; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Harvey Work, Armstrong, and Harold Work, Blue Earth, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Reva) Tokheim, Swea City, Mrs. George (Opal) Richards, St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Robert (Fern) Johnson, Animas, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 1, 1981)
