Mrs. Wadsworth Dies
Word was received here by relatives of the death of Mrs. Jim Wadsworth of Armstrong. She passed away Wednesday and was a former Lone Rock woman, living on a farm 1 ½ miles south of Lone Rock. (Algona Upper Des Moines, Algona, IA, January 13, 198)Rites for Mrs. Wadsworth, Ex-L.R. Woman
Lone Rock – Mrs. James Wadsworth, who with her husband lived 43 years on a farm 1 ½ miles sout of Lone Rock, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the home of her son Harris Wadsworth, a mile east of Armstrong, and funeral services and burial took place at Armstrong Saturday.Mrs. Wadsworth was born Lillie [Lillian] Jane Harris, daughter or Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harris, at El Paso, Ill., December 31, 1873, and was married to Mr. Wadsworth Feb. 2, 1893, at El Paso. One son, Harris, was born.
After living at El Paso one year Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth moved to Harvard, Neb., where they lived four years. From there they moved into the vicinity of Burt, living there one year.
During the following 43 years they made their home near Lone rock, then went to Armstrong to live with the son Harris.
Surviving are the husband James Wadsworth, the son Harris, a sister, Mrs. E.E. Paine, Burt; two brothers, Edward Harris, Lincoln, Neb., and Dr. E.A. Harris, of Illinois, and two grandchildren, Marlene and Avis Wadsworth. (Kossuth County Advance, Algona, IA, January 15, 1948)
