Armstrong Girl Takes Own Life
Drank Carbolic Acid Week Ago in Minneapolis
Mrs. Adolph Questad, age 22, of Armstrong committed suicide in Minneapolis, by drinking carbolic acid. According to reports Mrs. Questad had separated from her husband about a year ago and since then has been working in various towns. She visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Felkey of Armstrong two weeks ago, going to Minneapolis from there. A week later her folks were notified that Mrs. Questad was in a serious condition, caused by drinking carbolic acid. They left immediately for her bedside, where they remained until she passed away at 8:00 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in Armstrong Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Adolph Quasted [Questad], 21, died Monday evening at St. Paul as a result of taking poison. The body was brought to Armstrong Tuesday and burial will be there today. Besides her husband, Mrs. Quastad is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Felkey, two sisters, Irene and Velma, and one brother. Armstrong, July 13 – Funeral services were held at the opera house Thursday afternoon for Mrs. Lucille Felkey Questad who committed suicide in St. Paul aby taking poison. The Rev. E.T. Lundy of the Lutheran church was in charge. Mrs. Lucile Felkey Quastad, 21, who died last Monday [July 8, 1929] at the Anchor hospital in St. Paul, was buried Thursday afternoon. Funeral services were held at the opera house, conducted by the Rev. E. T. Lundy, and burial was in Armstrong Grove cemetery.Lucille Fern Felkey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Felkey, was born Dec. 2, 1907. She was united in marriage June 10, to Adolph Quastad. She is survived by her husband, father, mother, two sisters, Velma and Irene, and one brother, Roscoe. Two grandmothers and a large number of other relatives also mourn her death.
