Evert Griese Rites At Dolliver Friday
Funeral services for Evert (Ed) Griese, 89, Dolliver, who died Jan. 16, 1973, [Martin County, MN] will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Dolliver United Methodist Church. The Rev. Travis Cannaday will officiate and burial will be made in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Griese died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmont Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 15, 1884, in Ogle County, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. John Griese and educated in rural schools in Illinois. He moved with his family to Grundy Center and as a young man came to Emmet County. On Jan. 21, 1914, he married Lydia Hagebock at Dolliver.

He lived in Dolliver since 1930, where he farmed and was employed by Emmet County for many years. He retired in 1945. He was a member of the Dolliver United Methodist Church and Odd Fellows Lodge.

Surviving him are his wife, Lydia, Dolliver; one son, Carl, Dolliver; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Martin Griese, Burt; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Benton, Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, six brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9 p.m. today, Thursday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 18, 1973)
