Mrs. Gochanour Services Thursday in Armstrong
Mrs. Norval (Sarah Ellen) Gochanour, 60, Armstrong, died Monday afternoon, Aug. 20, 1973, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. John Freeman of Open Bible Church, Swea City, officiating. Burial will be made in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Sarah Ellen was born Dec. 26, 1912, at Noonan, N.D., to George and Ollie Hunter McKibben, and educated in Noonan schools. She was married in February, 1936, in Greenup, Ky., to Norval Gochanour. They lived in Ohio for 15 years, then came to Armstrong in 1950 and have lived there since. Mrs. Gochanour had been ill the past three years.
She is survived by her husband, Norval; one son, Nowell Gochanour, Armstrong; four daughters, Gwnedolyn Gay Gochanour, Marcia Ellen Gochanour, and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Helgason, all of Armstrong, and Mrs. Vernon (Bonnie) Shumaski of Pierce, Colo.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Bill McKibben, Armstrong; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Rhoades, Noonan, N.D., and Mrs. Mildred Kvingne, Crosby, N.D.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and one sister.
