Retired Police Officer Buried at Armstrong
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Armstrong First Methodist church for F.F. Frost, retired policeman. The Rev. S.E. Polovina officiated and was assisted by the I.O.O.F. at the graveside. Burial was in Armstrong Grove cemetery.Fernando Francis [per gravestone, Francis F.] (Jack) Frost was born July 20, 1880, at Ottawa, Ill., and died March 21, 1956, at his home in Armstrong.
He was united in marriage to Otillea Marie Klein October 6, 1898 at Ottawa. To this union one daughter was born.
Mr. Frost worked as a street care conductor in Ottawa and in 1902 the family moved to West Bend, Ia., where he was engaged in farming for about four years. They moved to Dolliver community and farmed there until 1920 when they came to Armstrong. He lived here since that time with the exception of two years when he worked in Swea City.
He was on the police force in Armstrong for a number of years retiring about two years ago.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. M.E. Dundas of Baldwin Park, Calif., one granddaughter, Mrs. John Van Dine and three great grandsons all of California. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 30, 1956)
