Armstrong – Services for Paul Fredericksen, 89, Armstrong, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong with Pastor Don Sarff officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. He died Saturday, Feb. 12, 1983 at the Valley Vue Nursing Home at Armstrong.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Armstrong after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Fredericksen was born July 12, 1893 in Denmark the son of Chris and Sophie (Madsen) Fredericksen. He came to the United States in 1913. He farmed in the Ringsted-Armstrong areas most of his life, and served as an Emmet County Assessor for 15 years. On Oct. 7, 1920 he was united in marriage to Carrie Hansen at Ringsted. He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church and the Armstrong Senior Citizens.

Survivors include his wife Carrie, Armstrong; one son, Virgil Fredericksen, Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters: Mrs. Dean (Marie) Ricard, Truman, Minn., Mrs. Ben (Ardis) Sweeney, Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Kenneth (Esther) LeVan, Elgin, Minn. and Mrs. Keith (Karen) Hertzke, Fairmont; 22 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; five brothers: Axsel, Johnans, Otto, Karl and Swen, all in Denmark; four sisters: Ellen, Anna, Emma and Karen, all in Denmark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one infant grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 15, 1983)
