1921-1979
Gruver – Mrs. Earl (Mildred Louise) Flier, 58, rural Estherville, died Thursday [April 19, 1979] morning at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home, Estherville.

Services for Mrs. Flier will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon on Sunday until noon Monday and at the church prior to services.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merean S. Larsen, she was born March 30, 1921, at Ringsted. She received her education in Ringsted schools and was married to Earl Flier on March 1, 1938, at Holstein. She lived her entire life in Emmet County and was a member of the Gruver Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Flier is survived by her husband, Earl; one son, Larry Flier, Westminster, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (LaVonne) Ruschy, Estherville, and Mrs. Curtis (Louise) Roemhildt, Jamesville, Minn.; eight grandchildren; one brother, Howard Larsen, Ringsted; and two sisters, Mrs. Ivan Fair, Blue Earth, Minn., and Mrs. Bertha Edwards, Graettinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 20, 1979)
