Heart Attack Fatal to Elmer Felkey
Elmer L. [Leslie] Felkey, 67, retired farmer of the Armstrong area, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 10:30 this morning. Mr. Felkey had driven to the Mary Soeth farm near Wallingford to visit his son, Byrl, and collapsed shortly after his arrival there.Mr. and Mrs. Felkey had retired from farming 11 years ago and moved to Estherville. After coming to Estherville Mr. Felkey served as custodian at Oak Hill cemetery for eight years until his retirement last fall.
Born Jun 16, 1888 at Armstrong he was united in marriage to Addie Pattersen, Dec. 14, 1910.
He is survived by his widow; son Byrl; two daughters, Mrs. Verne Glasnapp of Ringsted and Mrs. J.C. Hoctor of Glendale, Ariz., and a sister, Mrs. C.N. Peterson of Armstrong. Nine grandchildren also survive his death.

Felkey Rites Monday
Funeral services for Elmer L. Felkey who died unexpectedly of a heart attack yesterday morning will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Sternborg Funeral home, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Friends may call at Sternborgs from Saturday morning until time of services. Burial will be at Armstrong. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 20, 1956)
