Armstrong – Service for Otis A. [Albert] England, 95, of Armstrong will be held Wednesday, November 2 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ringsted with the Pastor Larry Tantow officiating. Interment will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery. He died Saturday, October 29 at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Ringsted.

He was born March 10, 1899 in Decatur, Ill., the son of John and Lillie Mae (Mitchell) England As a youth, he lived in Decatur, Myrtle Creek, Ore., Albert, Canada; Rockwell City and Ringsted. He attended school in Rockwell City and Canada.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Bates on March 12, 1926 in Manson. He worked in the Gypsum Mill in Fort Dodge and later as a farmhand. He then farmed for 25 years in the Ringsted area. He moved into Ringsted and went into trucking and shelling corn. After retiring, he lived in Rapid City, S.D. and Spirit Lake before moving back to Ringsted. He resided here until entering Valley Vue Care Center in September of 1987. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: a daughter-in-law Ardis (Hatland) England of Estherville; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother Lyle England of Armstrong; and three sisters Viola Bigelow of Rockwell City; Hazel Hutchinson of Lytton; and Marie Fertig of Carroll.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, a set of infant twins; his parents; two sisters and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 31, 1994)
