G.V. Giffin’s Sister Dies at His Home
Miss Beulah Giffin of Chicago died recently [August 9, 1934]at the home of her brother, G.V. Giffin of Independence township, after an extended illness.

She had been suffering from diabetes and other complications and Mr. Giffin went to Chicago and brought her home for a rest.

Miss Giffin was 49 years at the time of her death. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Lake Forest College and took advanced library work at the University of Illinois. She held a position in the Memorial Library of the University of Chicago until a few years ago. She worked in the library for 15 years.

She leaves one brother and two sisters to mourn her in this community, G.V. Griffin, Mrs. Roy Resh and Mrs. S.A. Dunlap.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Presbyterian church at Ringsted. (Palo Alto Tribune, Emmetsburg, IA, August 22, 1934)
