Mrs. Dundas Passes Away
Funeral Rites Will Be Tuesday
Mrs. Mary Dundas [Mary Alice DeLay], 74 years old, a resident of Estherville for 35 years, died yesterday afternoon in Coleman hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Dundas died on the anniversary of her wedding.

Funeral services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church with the Rev. F.W. Ortmeyer, the pastor, officiating.

Mrs. Dundas was born in Springfield, Ill., and was probably one of the few Estherville people who ever saw Abraham Lincoln. Relatives state that Mrs. Dundas often related remembering her father lifting her in his arms to look at the Civil War president as he lay in his casket.

Mrs. Dundas is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alberta Fouts of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 30, 1935)

Mrs. Mary Dundas, a long time resident of Estherville, died Sunday afternoon on her wedding anniversary at the Coleman hospital at the age of 74. Mrs. Dundas contracted pneumonia about a week ago and was taken to the Coleman hospital for treatment.

Last rites will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Epsicopal church with the Rev. F.W. Ortmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Dundas was born Nov. 24, 1861, and was united in marriage to William Dundas on Dec. 29, 1885. She and her husband lived in Armstrong for a while and 33 years ago came to Estherville. Mrs. Dundas died March 28, 1919.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Albertis Fouts. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, December 31, 1935)
