Man Dies in Auto Accident
The son of an Armstrong couple was killed early Saturday night in a collision involving six cars on an expressway near Holmdel, N.J.

Gerald Lee Daries, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Daries, and William Brown, 21, of Mankato, Minn., died in the mishap.

The men, March graduates of Mankato State College, were employed in New Jersey by the Bendix Corp.

Mr. Daries was born Oct. 8, 1942, at Armstrong. He attended Armstrong Schools and Estherville Junior College and graduated from Mankato State with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. He was employed by Bendix as an internal auditor.

He was a member of the Armstrong Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Dennis (Denna) Cross of Armstrong and Mary and Jane at home; one brother, Randy at home; two nieces, Denise and Denette Cross of Armstrong; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Florence Johnson of Armstrong; and his paternal grandfather, Edward Daries of Armstrong.

Services are scheduled Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Armstrong Presbyterian Church, Rev. Ellis Gasser officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Slaba-Reese Funeral Home in Armstrong from noon Wednesday until Thursday and 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 13, 1966)
