Mrs. Danielson’s Services Set Wednesday in Armstrong
Mrs. Bertha Katherine Danielson, 91, Armstrong, died at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 29 in Valley Vue Nursing Home.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Don Sarff officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. Reese-Henry Funeral Home, Armstrong, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born May 4, 1882, in Germany to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gehrtz and came to the United States with her parents at the age of four. They settled in Kossuth County where she received her education in rural schools.
She was married Sept. 26, 1899, to Emery Danielson in Swea City. They farmed in the Armstrong area all their married life. She was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong.
Surviving Mrs. Danielson are one son, Albert Danielson, Armstrong; five daughters, Mrs. Don (Mable) Cayler, Spirit Lake, Mrs. Harold (Rose) Johnson, Estherville, Mrs. Fred (Gladys) Becker, Mason City, Mrs. Alvena Cota, Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Harold (Florence) Lutz, Granada; 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter and one son.
Serving as pallbearers will be Clifford Steinberger, Dennis Laffey, Ronald Cota, Ronald Danielson, Richard Danielson and Gary McMurtry. Music for the services will be performed by Dr. Leroy Henrickson, vocalist, and Paul Henricksen, organist. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 30, 1973)
