Armstrong – Funeral services for Mary Cronk, 72, of Armstrong will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the United Methodist Church in Armstrong with the Rev. Dan Miller officiating. Interment will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery. She died Dec. 1 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Visitation will be held today, Monday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1928 in Seneca, the daughter of Oscar and Hanna (Rasmussen) Patterson. She received her education in the Seneca schools and graduated from Seneca High School. Following high school, she attended St. Joseph Beauty School in St. Joseph, Mo.

On Jan. 21, 1955, she was united in marriage to Donald Cronk in Ringsted. After the couple’s marriage, they made their home in rural Armstrong where she was a homemaker and was employed as a beauty operator at Pat’s Beauty Shop.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Armstrong where she participated in Wednesday Bible Study and she also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, of Armstrong; daughter, Mrs. Jon (Lori) Larsen of Armstrong; son, Brian Cronk and wife Jackie of Armstrong; daughter, Lisa Cronk of St. Joseph, Mo.; four grandchildren and sisters Helen Gilchrist of St. Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 4, 2000)
