Armstrong – Services for Robert Corderman, 74, who died Tuesday, June 27, 1989 at his home in Armstrong, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Armstrong with Pastor Donohue Sarff officiating. Burial will follow in the Armstrong Grove Cemetery in Armstrong. Family and friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Armstrong on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Robert Charles Corderman was born January 23, 1915 at Sac City, Iowa to Ellis Charles and Bessie G. (Bright) Corderman. He moved to Jack Creek township with his parents at age three and attended Jack Creek Township schools and Ringsted High School. On December 23, 1937 he married June Becker in Newell, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived in Ringsted, Fenton, and Armstrong, Iowa and Chokio, Minn. where they farmed and sold crop and hail insurance until his health forced him to retire. Mr. Corderman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife June of Armstrong; a son, Senior Chief Randy Corderman serving in the U.S. Navy at Oak Harbor, Wash.; three daughters: Mrs. Clifford (Sharon) Porter of Pocahontas, Mrs. Ray (Carol) Sanders of Armstrong and Beverly Gray of Mission Viejo, Calif.; three brothers: Beryl and Dale Corderman of Cairo, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Norman (Lois) Lavonne Jensen of Ringsted; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1989)
