Craig Colston
Armstrong – Services for Craig Gary Colston, 61, Truman, Minn. and formerly of Estherville and Armstrong were held Sunday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Armstrong with Pastor Don Sarff officiating. Interment was in Armstrong Grove Cemetery with full military rites. He died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1983 at the Fairmont Community Hospital. Henry and Olson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangement.

Colston was born Dec. 16, 1921 at Selma, the son of Gerald V. and Ethel (Bliss) Colston. He was a graduate of Redwood Falls High School and a 1949 graduate of Drake University. On Aug. 1, 1943 he was united in marriage with Marjorie Green at Prairie City; on April 17, 1973 he married Lucia Boesen at Armstrong, she [Marjorie] preceded him in death. He worked at the Hoye Rexall Drug in Estherville then moved to Armstrong in 1952 and owned and operated the Colston Pharmacy. He was a member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, North Forty Choir, Kiwanis, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a veteran of World War Two where he served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife Lucia, Truman, Minn. One son Garold Lee Colston, Heidelberg, Germany; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Kathi) Bidwell, Franklin, Va.; stepchildren, W.E. Boesch, Gerald Boesch, Dale Boesch, Mrs. Eldor (Delores) Pfeil; six grandchildren; two brothers: Lowell, Indianapolis, Ind. and Carroll James Colston, Roanoke, Va.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; parents and a stepson Calvin. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 10, 1983)
